The knowledge is not missing. It is in SharePoint, in Outlook, in the CRM, in a VDR export, in a model nobody has opened since LOI, and in the memory of a principal who left last spring. When a new deal arrives that rhymes with an old one, none of that is where the decision is being made.
What Rounic is
Rounic is a permission-aware, source-cited intelligence layer. It turns a firm’s documents, deal history, decisions, conversations, models, and portfolio data into persistent institutional memory — and puts that memory in front of the next decision.
The long-term product is not a chatbot. It is a temporal record of what the firm saw, believed, decided, did, and eventually learned. That record is the thing that compounds.
Why the name
Round + IC → Rounic. The round is the recurring cycle through which a firm sources, screens, diligences, debates, invests, operates, exits, and learns. The IC is where accumulated evidence and judgement become a consequential decision. Rounic closes the loop between them, so knowledge from one round improves the next.

Provenance before fluency
A confident paragraph with no source behind it is worse than no answer at all.
Permissions before retrieval
Authorisation is decided before a document is fetched, never by filtering an answer afterwards.
Contradictions are product value
When sources disagree, that disagreement is usually the finding. We surface it rather than resolving it quietly.
Human authority for consequential actions
Decisions, approved lessons, and external write-backs need a person. The system prepares; it does not decide.
